Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
A distressing incident unfolds at the Treasury Building in Kolkata's Alipore as Sahabuddin Mohalla found himself trapped in an elevator for approximately two and a half hours while attempting to reach the sixth floor.
The forty-four-year-old was among ten other individuals stuck between floors five and four when one of his legs became wedged between the elevator doors upon reaching the sixth floor. Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade, rushed to the scene to aid in the rescue efforts.Despite the efforts of the responders, it took about two hours to safely evacuate those trapped inside the elevator. Sahabuddin sustained a leg injury during the ordeal and was subsequently admitted to SSKM Hospital for medical attention.
The incident prompted the District Magistrate's visit to the site, highlighting the gravity of the situation and the need for improved safety measures within the building's infrastructure.
